Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne has unveiled its plans for the 71st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place in Burgas in 2027.

Following the milestone tenth edition of Ukraine's national final Vidbir, which in 2026 will see LELÉKA's "Ridnym" representing the country, Suspilne has confirmed that Vidbir will return in February 2027 to select Ukraine's entry for Eurovision.

The broadcaster has opened the song submission window, inviting artists and songwriters to apply until Monday, November 2. After the submission deadline, Suspilne will compile a longlist of up to 12 artists for auditioning.

From the auditions, a shortlist of at least six finalists will be announced in December. An additional slot in the final will be reserved for the winner of a public vote involving longlist entries that did not make the shortlist.

Ukraine's Eurovision History

Ukraine first entered the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and quickly established itself as a strong competitor. The country won the contest three times:

  • 2004: Ruslana with "Wild Dances", bringing Eurovision to Kyiv for its 50th anniversary edition.
  • 2016: Jamala with the emotional ballad "1944", which also received a Marcel Bezençon Award for artistry.
  • 2022: Kalush Orchestra with "Stefania", notable for being the first rap song to win Eurovision.

Suspilne's continued commitment to the Vidbir format underscores Ukraine's enthusiasm and strong presence in the contest.
