Lao broadcaster VTE9 has selected singer Thinla to represent Laos at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, which will be held in Bangkok on Saturday 14 November 2024. Thinla won a national selection where she performed three songs, with "BAE" emerging as the winning entry voted for by music fans worldwide.

Known for blending traditional Lao Morlum music with pop, R&B, and dance genres, Thinla has built a strong following since her debut in 2021, releasing over 20 tracks. Her recent U.S. tour has expanded her international reach, boosting her streams and views in North America.

Thinla has previously showcased Lao music internationally, representing her country at the Round Festival in Busan, South Korea, and performing at major ASEAN Summits and ceremonies. She aims to redefine how Lao music is perceived globally and to inspire other artists from her country to achieve greater heights.
