Laos is gearing up to make its debut at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, set to take place in Bangkok on Saturday, 14 November 2026. The country has confirmed the artist, Thinla, and will now determine the song she will perform through a national selection show titled Sieng Lao: The One.

National Selection Format

The selection will be presented in two episodes. The first, airing on Wednesday, 23 September at 15:30 CEST (20:30 ICT), will showcase Thinla performing three potential entries. The second, a results show, will follow on Thursday, 24 September at the same times.

Viewers worldwide can watch both shows live via the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel, while audiences in Laos can tune in through local broadcaster VTE9.

Voting Details

Voting for the song will be open for a full 24 hours, a departure from previous Eurovision Asia national selections. Voting is free and allows up to eight votes per person.

  • Votes from inside Laos will constitute 40% of the final result.
  • Votes from outside Laos will make up 20%.
  • A professional jury will contribute the remaining 40%.

This inclusive approach enables fans from both Laos and around the world to influence the selection.

Presenters and Judges

The show will be hosted by Tot Lina (English) and Lanny (Lao). The judging panel will feature Ola Blackeyes, Sack Cells, and Baby Max, who will comment on the performances.
