Laos has announced Thinla as its first-ever representative for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia in 2026. The contest will take place in Bangkok on Saturday, 14 November 2026.

Audiences will have the opportunity to choose the song Thinla will perform. She will present three potential entries during the Lao National Selection Show titled Sieng Lao: The One, which will be broadcast over two episodes.

The first episode airs on Wednesday, 23 September at 15:30 CEST (20:30 ICT), where Thinla will perform all three songs. Voting will open immediately and remain available for 24 hours on the Eurovision Asia website. The results will be revealed in a follow-up episode on Thursday, 24 September, at the same time.

Viewers worldwide can watch the selection show via the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel. In Laos, the show will also be broadcast on VTE9 television.

Thinla, previously known as Thinlamphone, is a prominent Lao artist known for blending traditional Morlum music with modern pop, R&B, and dance genres. Since debuting in 2021, she has released over 20 songs and gained recognition both regionally and internationally, including a recent US tour that increased her global audience.

Beyond Eurovision Asia, Thinla has represented Laos at international music events such as the Round Festival in Busan, South Korea. She has also performed at ASEAN Summits and ASEAN AIPA ceremonies, promoting Lao heritage through her music.

With her selection for Eurovision Asia, Thinla aims to broaden the global reach of Lao music and inspire other artists to elevate the country's musical profile on the world stage.
