Laos will participate in Eurovision Song Contest Asia for the first time in 2026, with artist Thinla chosen as the country's inaugural representative. The contest will take place in Bangkok on 14 November 2026.
National Selection Details
Thinla will perform three potential entries on the national selection show Sieng Lao: The One. Audiences worldwide can watch the show and vote for their favorite song via the Eurovision Asia website. The first episode, airing on 23 September at 15:30 CEST (20:30 ICT), will feature Thinla performing all three songs. Viewers will have 24 hours to cast their votes before the results are announced on 24 September at the same time.
Fans in Laos can watch the selection through television broadcaster VTE9, while the international audience can tune in on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
About Thinla
Known formerly as Thinlamphone, Thinla is a prominent Lao singer who has released over 20 tracks since 2021. Her music blends traditional Morlum with contemporary styles like pop, R&B, and dance music, gaining popularity across Southeast Asia and internationally. Recently, she toured the United States, increasing her streaming numbers in North America.
Beyond Eurovision, Thinla has represented Laos in various international platforms, including the Round Festival in Busan, South Korea, and notable ASEAN summits and ceremonies, where she has championed Lao cultural heritage through her music.
