The Philippines will make its debut at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia on 14 November with the song "Sobra-Sobra" performed by CARMELLE. This exciting announcement comes after the conclusion of the first-ever Philippine Selection Night held on 30 August.

The national selection featured ten of the country's most promising emerging artists competing for the chance to perform on an international stage. The event was organized by broadcaster ABS-CBN and hosted by Vice Ganda. It was streamed worldwide through the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.

The voting system combined three components: a professional jury's votes (40%), votes from viewers in the Philippines (40%), and votes from the rest of the world (20%). Among the top three finalists were Mapadama, performed by JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, placing third; Broken Beyond Repair by SAGA in second place; and the winning entry "Sobra-Sobra," performed by CARMELLE.

CARMELLE has risen in popularity through various reality singing competitions, including achieving first runner-up in The Voice Kids, winning Tawag ng Tanghalan, and participating in Pinoy Big Brother. "Sobra-Sobra," meaning "Too Much," was written by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides.
