The 71st Eurovision Song Contest is officially set to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027. This marks the first time Bulgaria will host the event, following DARA's victory at Vienna 2026 with the song "Bangaranga." The modern Arena Burgas, opened in 2023, will serve as the venue for the three live shows scheduled for 11, 13, and 15 May 2027.

Bulgaria's broadcaster BNT plans for Eurovision 2027 to be more than a single-city event. Other key Bulgarian cities like Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna, which also bid to host, will be involved in the broader Eurovision program to celebrate the event nationwide.

National Selection Season Underway

Many national broadcasters have begun their selection processes for Eurovision 2027 representatives. Canada’s CBC/Radio Canada will debut as a participating broadcaster, entitling them to join after becoming a member of the European Broadcasting Union. CBC has initiated a national search to choose the Canadian artist, empowering the public to participate in the selection.

European countries such as Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, San Marino, and Sweden have already opened calls for song submissions. Italy's renowned Festival di Sanremo has announced a special Eurovision-themed night to find Italy’s entry for the first time. Meanwhile, Austria and Switzerland will internally select their representatives.
