Estonian broadcaster ERR has confirmed that Eesti Laul will once again serve as the national selection contest to choose Estonia's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, which will be held in Burgas.

The competition will take place at the Unibet Arena in Tallinn on Saturday, 30 January 2027. Twelve songs will compete, with the winner granted the opportunity to represent Estonia on the Eurovision stage.

Song submissions opened on 4 September and will close on 8 October. Karmel Killandi, Editor-in-Chief of ERR’s Entertainment Programmes, emphasized Estonia's rich and diverse musical talent, mentioning the country's ability to surprise the Eurovision audience through its songwriters and performers.

Estonia's current selection system, Eesti Laul, gained prominence following Vanilla Ninja's victory in 2026; the band returned after previously representing Switzerland in 2005. Estonia debuted in Eurovision in 1994 and has achieved notable successes including the 2001 victory with "Everybody" performed by Tanel Padar, Dave Benton, and 2XL. Benton notably was the first Black artist to win the contest.

Estonia hosted the contest in 2002 in Tallinn and secured third place that year. After more than two decades, Tommy Cash earned a third-place finish in Basel 2025 with the song "Espresso Macchiato."
