Canada is set to make its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, with the 71st edition taking place in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May.

To mark this historic occasion, broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada has initiated a nationwide search to find the artist who will represent Canada at the world's largest live music event for the first time.

Selection Process

The broadcaster will first select the performer. The chosen artist will then collaborate with leading music industry professionals to create Canada's inaugural Eurovision song and performance.

Interested Canadian artists and their representatives were invited to submit entries via CBC/Radio-Canada's registration portal from August 31 to September 9. Detailed eligibility and participation requirements are provided on the portal.

After the submission window closes, CBC/Radio-Canada will shortlist finalists that best reflect Canada's diverse music scene. These finalists will be announced during the autumn.

Canadians will have the opportunity to vote online for their preferred finalist. Videos showcasing each artist will be available on the official Eurovision Song Contest Canada website. The public vote will be combined with input from a music industry jury to select the artist to represent Canada in 2027.
