Beatmosphere has been chosen to represent Bangladesh at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, which will take place in Bangkok on Saturday, 14 November 2023. The group secured their spot after winning the Voice of Bangladesh national selection show held on 30 September.
National Selection Details
The selection process included ten pioneering performers competing in Bangladesh's first national final for Eurovision Asia. The results were determined by a voting system comprising 40% professional jury votes, 40% Bangladeshi audience votes, and 20% from an international "Rest of the World" vote. After counting the votes, Beatmosphere was declared the winner, joining the event's host, Tahsan Rahman Khan, on stage alongside runners-up Pulak Adhikary and Vintage Theory.
About Beatmosphere
Formed in 2009, Beatmosphere is a genre-bending a cappella and beatbox collective known for creating rich soundscapes using only human voices and body percussion, without instruments or electronic equipment. Their performances combine layered harmonies, rhythmic beatboxing, vocal instrument emulation, and theatrical elements, making a small ensemble sound like a full band or vocal orchestra.
Typically a nine-member group, Beatmosphere will perform as a six-member ensemble at Eurovision Asia. The lineup includes lead vocalists Ishtiyak Zobayer (Zardo) and Sayed Ahnaf Tahmid (Glizmo), harmony singers Sidratul Mursalin Bhasha (Bhasha), Mahi Bin Ashraful (Sykoverse), and Moktadir Dewan (BeatBaksho) who also provides vocal bass and baritone, along with beatboxer and vocal percussionist Mahi Hossain Khan (Invalíd).
