On Tuesday 11 August, Bhutan will hold its first ever National Selection Show, Rhythm of Bhutan, to choose its song for the debut edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Asia in 2026. Broadcaster BBS is bringing the show to viewers at 15:00 CEST (19:00 BTT) through national TV and digital platforms. The event will also be streamed live worldwide on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
Competing entries and artists
- Karma Drupchu with "Pha Yuel (The Homeland)" – a folk and soft rock singer and songwriter known for performing in multiple languages including English and Dzongkha.
- The Sangay Lhaden Band performing "Pemi Tshewang Tashi (The Legend)" – blending rock, folk, and pop, with members skilled in various instruments and singing in several languages.
- Nyendra
- Pelden Wangchuk with "Jo’Druel (The Journey)" – known from Bhutan Got Talent, with a strong presence in Bhutanese contemporary music.
- Baeyul301 presenting "Drenpa (The Memories)" – a music collective mixing pop, hip-hop and R&B with local identity and international recognition.
How to vote
Viewers worldwide can vote online at eurovisionasia.com during the broadcast. Voting is free with each user having eight votes to distribute among at least three songs. Extra votes can be purchased up to a maximum of 18 votes per user.
The results will be decided from three voting groups: 40% from a professional jury, 40% from Bhutanese voters, and 20% from the rest of the world, reflecting international fan interest.
Hosts and jury
The show is hosted by Phub Tshering and Kelzang Dolkar, with an esteemed Bhutanese jury panel of Choeying Jatsho, Mr. Pema Samdrup, Sonam Dorji, and Ugyen.
