The 71st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, marking the first time the competition is held in the country. The event is scheduled for the 11th, 13th, and 15th of May 2027 at the modern Arena Burgas.

A New Host City for Eurovision

Following Dara's victory in the 2026 contest, the Bulgarian national broadcaster, BNT, initiated a host city selection process. Burgas was selected over other Bulgarian cities including Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna.

Burgas, located on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, is known for its beaches, seafront parks, and vibrant cultural scene. It is Bulgaria's fourth-largest city and boasts solid infrastructure including an international airport and efficient public transportation.

Venue: Arena Burgas

Arena Burgas, inaugurated in 2023, is one of Bulgaria’s most modern indoor arenas. It accommodates up to 15,000 spectators for concerts and events, making it well-suited for the Eurovision Song Contest's scale. The venue features modern facilities and convenient access from the city center.

Participation and Tickets

As of August 2026, 20 countries have expressed interest in participating in Eurovision 2027, including the debut of Canada and the return of North Macedonia. Final applications are due by mid-October 2026.

Ticket sales are expected to start late in 2026. Their release depends on finalized plans for stage design, seating arrangements, and selecting the ticket agency.
