The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) have announced that Burgas will be the host city for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled for 11, 13, and 15 May 2027. This marks the first time Bulgaria will host Eurovision, following DARA's victory at the 2026 contest in Vienna with the song "Bangaranga."

The event will take place at Arena Burgas, Bulgaria’s newest sports and entertainment venue, which opened in 2023. The venue was selected after a competitive process involving four Bulgarian cities. An international working group evaluated bids based on venue quality, technical capabilities, accommodation, transport, and municipal support.

Burgas stands out for its commitment to hosting Eurovision not just as a single-city event but as a nationwide celebration. Other Bulgarian cities such as Sofia, Plovdiv, and Varna will participate in an extensive program of Eurovision-related events fostering a broader national experience.

“It is an exceptional honour for us to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. The entire Burgas region is part of our team... This is Bulgaria hosting Eurovision – an entire community, united and inspired,” said Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas.

Eurovision fans interested in attending the contest are encouraged to join the official fan club, Eurofan, to access ticket sales. Tickets will be available for the two semi-finals on 11 and 13 May, the Grand Final on 15 May, and six Eurovision Preview Shows scheduled from 10 to 15 May.

Burgas, Bulgaria’s fourth-largest city, offers a vibrant setting known for its beaches, parks, and cultural festivals, making it an ideal backdrop for Europe’s largest live music event. A full program of events, including Eurovision Village and EuroClub, will be organized to complement the contest, with details forthcoming.
