The inaugural edition of Rhythm of Bhutan has crowned its first winner, Nyendra, who will represent Bhutan in the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026.

The National Selection Show featured five established Bhutanese artists performing live, and the winner was determined by a combined scoring system: 40% professional jury vote, 40% home viewer votes, and 20% from international audiences.

Nyendra's song, titled Lhayi Semo ("The Angel"), was co-written with Lungten Wangchuk. The artist, 24 years old, is a singer-songwriter and producer working across pop, folk-pop, acoustic, and R&B genres. He writes and produces independently and performs in both English and Dzongkha.

The debut Eurovision Song Contest Asia will take place in Bangkok on Saturday, 14 November 2026. Bhutan’s participation marks a significant milestone as the country joins this new regional Eurovision event.

Meanwhile, the Philippines will hold their National Selection Show on Sunday, 30 August. The ten competing artists for that event have already been announced and their songs will be released on 17 August.
