Bhutan has chosen its first-ever entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest Asia, set to debut in Bangkok in 2026. The nation's representative will be Nyendra, a 24-year-old singer-songwriter and producer, with his song Lhayi Semo ("The Angel").

The winner was decided through the inaugural edition of Rhythm of Bhutan, a national selection show broadcast both locally and on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel. Five Bhutanese artists competed in the two-hour program, showcasing a diversity of established local talent.

The voting combined three components: 40% from a professional jury, 40% from viewers within Bhutan, and 20% from a global "Rest of the World" vote. Following Nyendra, The Sangay Lhaden Band finished second with Pemi Tshewang Tashi, and Baeyul301 took third place with Drenpa.

Nyendra, whose full name is Thukten Nyendra, is noted for his versatile music style blending pop, folk-pop, acoustic, and R&B genres. He independently writes and produces songs in both English and Dzongkha, the national language of Bhutan. He holds a degree in mass communication and journalism from the Royal Thimphu College and has grown a sizable audience with previous tracks.

In related Eurovision Song Contest Asia news, the Philippines' national selection for the same competition is scheduled for Sunday, 30 August 2025, with the ten competing artists to have their songs released on 17 August.
