Aina Abdul will represent Malaysia at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, scheduled for Saturday, 14 November 2026, in Bangkok.
The announcement came during the 40th edition of AJL: Anugerah Juara Lagu on 15 August, where Aina Abdul emerged as Malaysia's entrant among ten competing artists. This annual competition spotlighted Malaysian music and celebrated its 40-year history, introducing a new prize opportunity — representing Malaysia on an international stage.
The grand event was broadcast live from Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil, highlighting both the rich past and promising future of Malaysia's music scene. Fans can follow Eurovision Asia on Instagram and TikTok to track Aina's journey leading up to the event.
Malaysia follows Bhutan, which selected Nyendra as its representative earlier in August for Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026.
