San Marino is preparing its national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, which will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria. The country's broadcaster SMRTV has revealed that the selection event, titled the San Marino Song Contest, will culminate in a grand final on Saturday, 6 March 2027.
The selection format includes two semi-finals on 3 and 4 March, each featuring 20 competing songs. These semi-finalists are chosen through a preliminary competition called Dreaming San Marino, which begins with auditions in October and November, leading to a 'Stage & Live Academy' round that narrows down the entries to the 40 semi-finalists.
Out of the 40 semi-finalists, a total of 20 songs will advance to the final: 10 selected internally by SMRTV and 10 emerging from the two semi-finals.
The submission window for artists to enter songs is currently open, and more information is available on the SMRTV website.
Looking Back to 2026
San Marino's previous representative, SENHIT, won the San Marino Song Contest 2026 with the song "Superstar" and went on to perform at Eurovision in Vienna in 2026. This marked SENHIT's third time at the contest following her previous entries "Stand By" (2011) and "Adrenalina" (2021). Her 2026 performance was notably enhanced by British pop icon Boy George.
With the 2027 contest approaching, San Marino's detailed selection process demonstrates its commitment to showcasing promising talent on the Eurovision stage once again.
